Run an audit

A prioritized health sweep for when you inherit an account or ask "where do I start?"

An audit is the right first move when you take over an account or don't know where to begin. It sweeps the account for structural and hygiene problems, scores them, and queues the highest-impact fixes as proposals you can approve in one place.

Run it

Trigger an audit from the Audit page, or asa_trigger_audit over MCP. Audits also run on a recurring schedule, so there's usually a recent report already. Read the latest with asa_get_audit_report; list past runs with asa_list_audit_runs.

Check sync freshness first. An audit on stale data audits the past — trigger a sync and let it finish if the latest run is over a day old.

What it checks

The audit looks for the problems that quietly cost installs:

  • Structure — brand / discovery / category separation, ad groups that mix intent.
  • Match-type hygiene — BROAD terms that should be EXACT, missing negatives, negative conflicts.
  • Goal coverage — ad groups without a cpaGoal, campaigns without a targetCpa.
  • Budget caps — campaigns capped below their profitable demand, or uncapped and drifting.
  • Storefront coverage — proven campaigns not yet expanded to viable countries.
  • Stale keywords — spend with no installs over the trailing window.

Act on it

The report ranks findings by impact and attaches proposals. High-confidence, bounded fixes (negatives, small pauses) may auto-apply; the rest land in Approvals for you to review with their rationale. Weekly, the report also reviews the outcome of changes it made earlier, so you can see whether a past fix actually helped.
