Set optimization targets
A daily spend goal and CPA band per account drive both the recommendation feed and what auto-applies.
Optimization targets are the two numbers that turn the copilot from a reader into an optimizer.
Set them per account in Project → Settings → Optimization (or asa_set_optimization_targets
over MCP).

Why they matter
The targets feed two systems at once:
- The plan.
asa_get_optimization_planreturns your targets, current pacing, and a ranked action feed (scale / improve / protect / reallocate) measured against them. This is the ground truth for any strategy question. - The safe-apply policy. The policy reads the CPA band directly. A budget raise only auto-applies when a campaign's trailing 30-day CPA sits inside your band; outside it, the same change queues for approval. Without a band set, money-moving raises have no reference and stay conservative.
Choosing a band
Set the band around the install cost you'd genuinely accept — not a single number. The band is a tolerance: campaigns inside it are healthy enough to scale automatically, campaigns above it get protected or cut, and campaigns below it are candidates to push harder. A band that's too tight forces everything into the approval queue; too loose, and raises auto-apply on campaigns you'd rather watch.
